Step 1:
Assessment
All new age group swimmers
must be assessed for placement. Please show up on
time. We cannot assess new swimmers during practice
times. No appointment needed. Assessment
locations and times are as follows:
Clovis Swim Club will be running
assessments on Mondays and Thursdays (with the exception of
holidays)at Clovis North and Clovis East at the following
times:
Mondays & Thursdays @
Clovis North: 5:15pm with Coach Adam Reid
Mondays & Thursdays @
Clovis East: 6:30pm with Coach Abby Winters
*Please be on time for
assessments. Practices start 15 minutes
after scheduled assessment times and assessments must be
discontinued when practices start. We do not hold
assessments on holidays.*
A
swimmer can join the team anytime during the year. Clovis Swim Club
conducts new swimmer placement sessions at Clovis North and Clovis
East at the times listed above. Assessments are used to
determine the proper placement of new swimmers within the team
structure. Bring a swimsuit, goggles, and a towel and if the
swimmer has long hair please make sure it is up in a ponytail or a
swim cap.
Swimmers must be able to complete two
lengths of the pool freestyle with side-breathing and one length of
the pool backstroke in order to join. If your athlete is not
strong enough to meet this requirement or does not yet have the
skills to meet this requirement, the assessor will refer you to
Swim America Swim School for lessons.
Step 2:
Registering
A
registration packet will be given to you following the
assessment. This packet will include the registration form,
code of conduct forms, emergency information form, a copy
of our financial policies as well as other club
information. Once that paperwork is filled out and
turned in, your athlete is welcome to participate.
The information from
your registration form will be used to set up an online account for
you and your athlete through our website. You should receive
an email with your log in information within 2 business days of
turning in your registration form. If you have not received
this email within 2 business days please call the Aquatics
Office.

The
Clovis Swim Club program has evolved into one of the best
competitive swim programs in California for developing young
swimmers with individual attention from caring coaches. Our
emphasis will be to demonstrate that a swimmer wins every time he
or she improves a time, and not just when he or she reaches the end
of the pool first. Clovis Swim Club produces not only young people
who swim fast, but young people with a sense of self worth, sound
self esteem, better character and consideration for others.
We
work for the quality, not the quantity of swimmers. The only way to
maintain quality is with fair sharing of resources. Keeping
excellent coaches from leaving for other teams means competitive
compensation that is predictable and consistent. A mammoth swim
team has a difficult time sustaining the level of individual
attention and quality of coaching for our children that we think is
important. Controlling the size of our team means we all have to
pitch in to support the team with our time, talents, and financial
support.
Clovis
Swim Club policy requires continuing fees even when a swimmer is on
vacation or is temporarily missing practice for some other
reason.
Please
remember the following elements of our swim team
policy:
Ø
Families
are committeed to 35 hours of Service after your first year in the
program and 20 hours in the first year. Please see separate
policy
Ø Fees
are billed on the 21st for the following month and due
by 20th of the following month .
Ø $10
Late fees will be automatically charged to your account if not paid
on time.
Ø If
you swim for any portion of a billing period, you must pay for all
of the billing period.
Ø A $25
processing fee is assessed to all swimmers that become inactive and
then return within the 2009-2010 season. New swimmers entering
the program after the beginning of a quarter will pay pro-rated
dues assessed in one-month increments based on each practice
group’s monthly fee structure.
Ø Families
are responsible for all dues assessed prior to written receipt of
inactivation notice. Written notices must be received by the
Aquatics Office (not your coach.)
Ø No
refunds will be given on dues to swimmers who go inactive unless
they meet the following criteria:
- Swimmer
moves from current address to a residence more than 20 miles
from one
of our practice facilities.
- Swimmer
or immediate family member becomes ill or injured to the extent
that the swimmer
will be unable to swim for at least 4 consecutive weeks with
medical documentation.
Call our Aquatics Office at 559-327-2955 Monday-
Friday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for additional
information.
